That's what happens with Neuropathy, one of the many crippling complications brought on by diabetes.

Hi Jage, This is Jon McMahon, you watched my trailer yesterday for my docuseries: iThrive! Rising from the Depths of Diabetes & Obesity.

When you have neuropathy, you can't feel anything, then you injure your feet a lot more by stepping on things, bumping into things, getting infections, etc.

I got up and walked around in the sand for an hour, and still noticed nothing until I got home and saw my feet and sandals were SOAKED in blood!

The next morning my doctor warned me, "Jon if your feet get infected and the infection goes to your blood, we will probably have to amputate." AMPUTATE!? Cut off my feet??? "Stay off your feet," he said, "for one to two months."

I went home depressed. Wouldn't you be? What was I going to do about my docuseries?

For the next few months I was supposed to be traveling North America interviewing fascinating doctors, scientists and experts about diabetes and obesity--not staying at home in bed!

What about my dream of making a difference in people's lives? It seemed like I'd failed again. Honestly, I wanted to cry.

But that's when it happened... That's when I remembered the young obese girl I saw with her mother a few weeks earlier... her two sisters were thin but she was obese. I felt for her because I know what it's like. "Do it for her," I thought.
