Photo shows the banana flower with green fruit and the tree stalks with large leaves. More info on why I would say that. :) Quote: "Basjoo is the hardiest Banana plants on earth. It is a very fast grower capable of growing up to two feet in one week. This hardy banana tree is a very heavy feeder. This means if you want your plants to grow quickly and well, you must feed it on a regular basis. Liquid plant food is recommended every 2 weeks to achieve maximum nutrition for maximum growth. Plant your hardy banana plants in full sun, but be aware that windy conditions can cause the fragile leaves of the banana plants to shred. As far as watering, hardy bananas love the moisture but the soil must drain well. If the soil does not drain well, the banana plants will rot. If you are treating your banana plants well, they will produce a new leaf every 5-7 days outdoors. If a new leaf does not produce in this time frame, the plants are either underfed or under-watered. Winter care is important. After your Basjoo Banana tree has been hit by the first frost, cut the hardy banana to the ground. Don't let it rot back because it can continue rotting down into the roots which will kill the plants. Cover with a good 6 to 8 inches of mulch and then cover the mulch with a sheet of plastic.
